Establishment And Brief Introduction

Lala Lajpat Rai Library and Reading Room, the unit of Bharat Seva Sansthan, was inaugurated by Hon’ble Shri Vishwanath Das Chief Minister of the State of Orissa on August 17, 1971, Samvat 2028. Which was presided over by the then President of Bharat Seva Sansthan, Honorable Mr. Chandrabhanu Gupta. The purpose of this library is to further the interest of reading. So that readers can study books, newspapers, magazines on various topics without any charges. This library located in the heart of the city inspires the readers to learn about various subjects.

Rules for Admission to Library:

Those desirous of using the library write their names in the register on the entrance door, which means that they promise to follow the rules of the library. After signing the reader’s entry, he can read newspapers, magazines without any letter of entry or fee. Books are issued to the elderly and old people without introduction cards.

Free service:

Lala Lajpat Rai Pustkalaya avem Vachnalaya is free of cost, no fee is charged for giving newspapers, magazines and books in the library. In order to read books, students have to present the identity card of the new session (running session) of their college / university.

The purpose of Lala Lajpat Rai Pustkalaya avem Vachnalaya is to increase the interest of readers in reading. The format of this library is that of a reference library. Therefore, books are not issued in this library to take home nor are they photocopied.
